Founded in May 2006, the PenMet Foundation received recognition from the IRS as a charitable 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in August 2006.
The Foundation was established to enhance the general health and well-being of the Gig Harbor Peninsula community by ensuring that all citizens have access to a diversity of recreational, educational and cultural activities in parks throughout the PenMet Park District system.
We accomplish this by:

Securing private funding to support the PenMet Park District system.

Assisting the Park District in building a first-class parks system by providing funding for land acquisitions, capital improvements, maintenance and park programs.

Advocating for quality parks and greenspace in the Gig Harbor Peninsula.
