What is the PenMet Foundation?
Founded in May 2006, the PenMet Foundation received recognition from the IRS as a charitable 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in August 2006.
The Foundation was established to enhance the general health and well-being of the Gig Harbor Peninsula community by ensuring that all citizens have access to a diversity of recreational, educational and cultural activities in parks throughout the Gig Harbor Peninsula Region.
We accomplish this by:
- Securing private funding to help support the region’s park system and agencies such as the Park District and Gig Harbor Parks.
- Assisting the region’s park-centered agencies in building a first-class parks system by providing funding for land acquisitions, capital improvements, maintenance and park programs.
- Advocating for quality parks and greenspace in the Gig Harbor Peninsula.
